UAE bank statements to Excel
What Emirates NBD, ADCB and Dubai Islamic Bank say about statements, locked files and how far back you can go, and the route to Excel.
This guide gathers what Emirates NBD, ADCB and Dubai Islamic Bank say on their own pages about getting a statement, about the lock on the file and about how far back a statement reaches, and links to the 3 UAE banks that have a page on ExtractPro. From any of them the route is the same: upload the statement and an .xlsx workbook comes back with a row for every transaction, the date, description and amount in separate columns, a balance column as well when the statement shows it, and amounts stored as numbers that Excel can total.
What each bank says about its statements
- Emirates NBD: “Your e-Statement will be sent in PDF format to your registered email address in our records.” and “Authenticated statements are stamped statements issued on the bank’s letterhead, for official business or government purposes.”
- ADCB: “The ADCB e-statements are sent to your registered email address every month.” and “Click on 'PDF Download' to download the digitally stamped statement”.
- Dubai Islamic Bank: “Click on the PDF icon to download the statement” and “Interactive eStatement is password protected and is delivered to the registered email address.”

Emirates NBD, ADCB and Dubai Islamic Bank each have a download guide of their own on this blog.
Why the password and the window matter
Emirates NBD publishes limits on how far back an authenticated statement can be requested, and an authenticated statement is one you may want to upload. Its page for authenticated statement requests says “Maximum of 6 months statements can be requested via the website.” and, for a longer stretch, “up to 3 years tenure by visiting the nearest branch”. Its page on closing an account says “Print or download your statements for your record via Online Banking as your online statement history won’t be available after you close your account.” Source: Authenticated Bank Statement Request | Emirates NBD, www.emiratesnbd.com/en/self-service/authenticated-statement-request; Close an account | Support | Emirates NBD, www.emiratesnbd.com/en/help-and-support/close-an-account. All accessed 12 October 2026.
A statement that arrives by email may come locked, and each bank sets its own rule. Emirates NBD answers “Yes, the e-Statement is password protected, and the password is the primary CIF ID. The CIF ID is the middle 8 digits of your account number.” ADCB says of its monthly e-statement “Our free service is backed by robust encryption and is always password protected.” Dubai Islamic Bank says “Interactive eStatement is password protected and is delivered to the registered email address.” Whatever the rule, type the password at the upload step; the file is unlocked in your browser. Business downloads at Emirates NBD and the ADCB app
Emirates NBD’s businessONLINE guide says “You can download statements from businessONLINE in the following formats –” and lists “PDF Excel CSV”. Its MT940 user guide says “We have option to download MT940 Statement for past one year”. In the ADCB app the step reads “Tap on ‘Download Statement’ and select file format and you can download it to your device or send it out via messaging or mailing apps”. ExtractPro reads PDF or Excel files (.xlsx, .xls). The 3 UAE banks on ExtractPro
Each name below opens the ExtractPro page for that bank, where the bank’s own wording about statements sits beside the answers on uploading the file.
From the statement to a spreadsheet
The statement may come from an app, from Online Banking, from an email or from a client; the route does not change. It takes three steps:
- 1Choose the statement as it was given to you and upload it. If the file has a password, type it at the upload step; the file is unlocked in your browser.
- 2ExtractPro reads the transactions in the statement and gives each one its own row.
- 3Download the .xlsx, with date, description and amount in separate columns, every amount stored as a number, and a balance column as well when the statement shows it. The custom format writes a CSV instead.
When the file is going to Xero, the Xero guide lists the custom format options to choose. Before the workbook is relied on, read it against the statement. The count of rows should equal the count of transactions listed, and the last balance should equal the statement’s closing balance if one is printed.
