How to download NAB bank statements
NAB Internet Banking holds up to seven years of bank account statements and downloads up to 25 at a time. The steps, NAB’s wording and when ExtractPro takes it.
NAB keeps up to seven years of bank account statements in NAB Internet Banking and two years in the NAB app. Its guide leads through Account statements to a Download button, without naming a file type. Below are the steps, NAB’s own words and what happens next if the file is a PDF.
Account statements in NAB Internet Banking
NAB’s guide “Access online account statements and letters” sets out the route: “Log into NAB Internet Banking with your 8 to 10-digit NAB ID and password. · Select Accounts in the menu and choose 'Account statements' in the menu. · Choose the Account drop-down list that you want a statement for. · Select a time period from the Date range drop-down or enter a custom range. Select Search. · You can select up to 25 statements. Select Download. · Statements will appear in your browser's download folder.” Source: NAB, Access online account statements and letters, www.nab.com.au/help-support/personal-banking/manage-online-banking/download-statements-letters, accessed 7 October 2026.
- 1Log in to NAB Internet Banking with your NAB ID and password.
- 2Select Accounts in the menu, then Account statements.
- 3Choose the account from the drop-down list, pick a period in Date range (or enter your own) and select Search.
- 4Tick up to 25 statements and select Download; if the file is a PDF, that is the one to upload to ExtractPro.
Twenty-five at a time, every six months
The fifth step caps each batch at 25 statements, and the files land in your browser’s download folder. On how often a statement is issued, NAB says: “Unless you've requested otherwise, for most accounts you'll receive a statement every six months.”
Statements and the transaction export
The transaction history page works over a shorter window: “View up to two years (731 days) of transactions.” From there, “Select Export to export all or some of your transactions in a spreadsheet, QIF file or PDF.” For the years before those 731 days, the statements are the record to download.
If the NAB statement is a PDF
When the statement you downloaded is a PDF, ExtractPro turns it into an .xlsx with one transaction under another: date, description and amount in separate columns, the balance as well when the statement shows it, and amounts as numbers.
To confirm nothing went missing, set the closing balance and the transaction count of the Excel file against the statement. NAB’s page on ExtractPro:
