How to download a Westpac eStatement
Westpac eStatements download as PDFs from Online Banking or the Westpac App, with up to seven years of history. The steps, the app route and the Excel file.
Westpac calls its digital statements eStatements, and in Online Banking each one comes down as a PDF. That PDF is what ExtractPro turns into Excel. Here are the Online Banking steps, the route in the Westpac App, and how far back statements and the transaction history reach.
The Online Banking route
Westpac’s eStatements page lists the steps for Online Banking: “Go to Overview and then Statements · Select an account under Active accounts · Enter date range or select a pre-set range and select Search · Select Download PDF to view or print the statement” Source: Westpac, Enjoy the benefits of eStatements, www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/online-banking/making-the-most/estatements/, accessed 7 October 2026.
- 1Log in to Westpac Online Banking, go to Overview and then Statements.
- 2Select the account under Active accounts.
- 3Enter a date range, or pick a pre-set one, and select Search.
- 4Select Download PDF: the statement PDF is the file ExtractPro converts.
In the Westpac App
On a phone, the same page starts from Smart Search: “Search Statements in the Smart Search bar · Tap Statements (incl. closed accounts) · Select the account in Active Accounts · Tap the Statement date period you want to view · Tap the share icon to download or send a copy”.
Three years of history, seven of eStatements
Westpac says “You can view up to 7 years of statement history”, and its transaction history page reads: “Search up to three years of transaction history in Online Banking or the Westpac App”. For accounts that are already closed, “Closed account statements are saved online for seven years”.
The transaction list also leaves Online Banking as a file: “Choose from 4 different file types in Online Banking available from a desktop – CSV, QBO, QIF or OFX”. For years beyond the three of history, and for statements a client forwards, the eStatement is the document to keep; Westpac itself mentions sharing it: “Easily provide eStatements to accountants and 3rd parties when they need them.”
From the Westpac eStatement to Excel
Give ExtractPro the eStatement PDF and you get an .xlsx in which every transaction takes a line of its own, with date, description and amount (and the balance, when the eStatement shows it), the amounts kept as numbers you can sum or filter.
A quick look before reconciling: the Excel file and the eStatement should end on the same balance and hold the same transactions. Westpac’s page on ExtractPro:

Frequently asked questions
Where are eStatements in Westpac Online Banking?
Under Overview, then Statements. You pick the account under Active accounts, set a date range or a pre-set one, select Search and finish with Download PDF.
Can I still get eStatements for a closed Westpac account?
Yes, for seven years online; the app even lists closed accounts under Statements. For anything older, Westpac gives a number to ring: “To access statements older than 7 years, call us on 13 20 32…”
Which Westpac file goes into ExtractPro?
The eStatement PDF, as Westpac delivers it. If it carries a password, enter it while uploading and it unlocks in your browser; the download is an .xlsx with a row for every transaction.
