Kiwibank keeps bank statements in a Statement vault inside internet banking and saves each one as a PDF. Below are the five steps, the way to older statements, Kiwibank’s wording about generating a statement and the two-year limit on the export in its business internet banking.

Five steps to the Statement vault

Kiwibank sets the route out in its help centre: “This functionality is only available within internet banking. Log in to internet banking. Click 'Settings' at the top of the screen. Under 'Transactions and Accounts', click 'Statement vault'. Click 'Download' for each statement and it'll download as a PDF. To view statements older than 12 months, click 'Show All'.” Source: Kiwibank, Bank statements, www.kiwibank.co.nz/help/accounts/balances-statements/bank-statements/, accessed 7 October 2026.

  1. 1Log in to Kiwibank internet banking: the Statement vault is only available there.
  2. 2Click Settings at the top of the screen.
  3. 3Under Transactions and Accounts, click Statement vault.
  4. 4Click Download for each statement: Kiwibank says it downloads as a PDF, the file to upload to ExtractPro.
  5. 5To see statements older than 12 months, click Show All.

Generating a statement for a period

Kiwibank also describes building a statement for a chosen stretch of time: “You can easily use filters within internet banking to generate and download bank statements showing your transaction history for a certain period of time”. The format comes from a dropdown: “Within the 'Export' dropdown, select the format you’d like to download your statement in.” Source: Kiwibank, Generate a bank statement, www.kiwibank.co.nz/help/accounts/balances-statements/bank-statements/generate/, accessed 7 October 2026.

What a Kiwibank statement shows

Kiwibank’s page on reading a statement says it “gives you a running account balance on the right hand side after each transaction”. Source: Kiwibank, Read a statement, www.kiwibank.co.nz/help/accounts/balances-statements/bank-statements/read-statement/, accessed 7 October 2026.

Where the business export stops

In Kiwibank’s business internet banking, the export formats are listed: “Select a file format (CSV, JSON, OFX, QIF, PDF).” The same page states the limit: “Exports are limited to two years. To view older transactions, use your statements.” Source: Kiwibank, View and export your transactions, www.kiwibank.co.nz/business-banking/thrive-hq/online-banking/internet-banking/view-and-export-your-transactions/, accessed 7 October 2026.

From the Kiwibank PDF to Excel

Upload the statement PDF from the Statement vault, or one that someone sent you, without altering it. What returns is an .xlsx with a transaction on every row, date, description and amount in separate columns, the balance too when the statement shows it, and amounts held as numbers.

Then match the last balance and the row count of the workbook to the statement. Kiwibank on ExtractPro:
