How do you convert your ASB bank statement to Excel?

Give ExtractPro an ASB statement PDF and it hands back an Excel file (.xlsx) with a row per transaction and the date, description and amount in separate columns (and the balance, when the statement shows it). In FastNet Classic, ASB keeps statements in a Document Centre, and its help says “Your statements are in .pdf format, so are easy to download if you need to.” ASB also says “you can view up to seven years of transaction history on ASB bank accounts and ASB Credit Cards.” ASB is at asb.co.nz.

How to find your ASB statement in the Document Centre

  1. Log in to FastNet Classic and open the menu in the top left of the screen.
  2. On the right-hand side, select ‘Documents’.
  3. When the document centre opens, choose the time period you need.
  4. Select ‘Statements’ in Document types: ASB says they are in .pdf format, the file to upload to ExtractPro.

“Log in to FastNet Classic. Open the menu in the top left of the screen. On the right-hand side, select ‘Documents’. When the document centre opens, choose the time period you need. Then select ‘Statements’ in Document types. Your statements are in .pdf format, so are easy to download if you need to.”

FAQ

About ASB statements

01

Does ExtractPro take the statements from ASB’s Document Centre?

Yes. A statement from the ASB Document Centre is a PDF, and ExtractPro turns it into an .xlsx with every transaction in a row of its own.

02

Where are older statements if the ASB Mobile app shows only the latest?

In FastNet Classic. ASB’s help for the mobile app says “You’ll see the last twelve months of statements (if available).” and then points to the website: “Find out how to view older statements by logging into FastNet Classic internet banking.”

03

How many transactions can ASB export in one file?

ASB says: “You can export up to 10,000 transactions per file download.” Its page on Statement Export adds that it “supports the OFX (Open Financial Exchange) file standard.”
