How do you convert your Heartland bank statement to Excel?

If a Heartland statement is a PDF, ExtractPro converts it into an Excel file (.xlsx) with every transaction on its own row and the date, description and amount in columns (and the balance, when the statement shows it). In the Heartland app guide you click “More options” on the account, select “Generate a statement”, enter a date range and click the statement on the “My documents” page; Heartland notes that “this is not available for Home Loan accounts”. Heartland Bank is at heartland.co.nz, and its planned merger with TSB is covered in the third question.

How to download your Heartland bank statement

  1. Go to the Account summary of the account you want a statement for and click More options.
  2. Select Generate a statement and enter your desired date range.
  3. On the My documents page, click the statement to download it.
  4. Open the file: if it is a PDF, that is the one to upload to ExtractPro.

“Go to the Account summary that you wish to generate and download a statement for and click on 'More options'. Next, select 'Generate a statement' and enter your desired date range. … you'll be directed to 'My documents' page … Simply click the statement to download it.”

FAQ

About Heartland statements

01

Can a Heartland statement be converted to Excel?

Yes. When the Heartland statement you download is a PDF, ExtractPro produces an Excel version, one transaction per row, with amounts you can sum.

02

What is the difference between a Heartland e-statement and exported transactions?

Heartland’s page on accepted bank statements says “An e-statement will be your typical full statement download”, while a transactional breakdown “would be what you get when you ‘export transactions’ from a specific account”. For that export, Heartland tells you to “click 'More options' at the top of your account screen and choose 'Export transactions'.”

03

What has been announced about Heartland and the TSB merger?

Proposed, not done. The NZX announcement of 1 October 2026 reports Heartland’s shareholder vote, and says completion “remains subject to satisfaction of the remaining conditions”, the regulatory approvals among them. The date Heartland gave on 2 June 2026 for the merged TSB Heartland Bank Limited was “December 2026”.
