How to download an ANZ NZ bank statement
ANZ lets you reach up to seven years of statements in Internet Banking and goMoney. The Internet Banking steps, the goMoney route and the PDF in ANZ’s video.
ANZ New Zealand keeps its statements in Internet Banking and in the goMoney app, under documents. Below are the Internet Banking steps, the goMoney route, what ANZ’s video says about the file you get and what to do with it afterwards.
Four steps in Internet Banking
On the statements page of its guides, ANZ sets out the route: “In Internet Banking select Documents · Choose a document type, an account, credit card or loan, and a date range · Select Search · Choose a document to open, download, email or print”. Source: ANZ, Statements, documents, and going paperless, www.anz.co.nz/banking-with-anz/ways-to-bank/guides/statements/, accessed 7 October 2026.
- 1In ANZ Internet Banking, select Documents.
- 2Choose a document type, an account and a date range, then select Search.
- 3Choose the statement you need and open or download it.
- 4ANZ’s video describes the download as a PDF version of the account statement: that PDF is the file you upload to ExtractPro.
The goMoney route and the seven years
In the app the guide reads: “In goMoney select Profile > Statements & documents · Choose an account and a date range to see available documents”. On reach, it says you can “see, download, email, and print up to seven years of statements and advice in goMoney and Internet Banking”. A closed account is handled differently: “To get documents for closed accounts, you’ll need to contact us.”
What ANZ says about the PDF
The written steps do not name a file type; the video on the same page does. Of the View button it says: “If you select ’View’ a new browser tab will open with a PDF version of the account statement.” And of the Download button: “If you select ’Download’ a PDF version will download and show at the bottom of your browser screen.”
A statement is not the transaction export
ANZ has a separate export for transactions: “In Internet Banking choose an account to export transactions from · Select Export · Choose a date range and file format · Select Export and save the file”. Its guide warns that “Exports to CSV, QIF and TSV don’t include unprocessed transactions.” The statement is another document, and it is the one ExtractPro converts.
From the ANZ PDF to Excel
Give ExtractPro the PDF exactly as ANZ produced it, or the one a client forwarded. You receive an .xlsx with each transaction on its own row: date, description and amount in separate columns, the balance as well when the statement shows it, and every amount stored as a number.
A last look is worth the minute: is the final balance in the workbook the one printed on the statement, and do the rows match its transaction count? The ANZ NZ page on ExtractPro:

Frequently asked questions
Can I get an ANZ statement without Internet Banking?
Yes, in goMoney. ANZ’s guide has you open Profile > Statements & documents, then pick an account and a date range to see the documents on offer.
Does ANZ say its statements are PDFs?
In the video on its statements page, yes: choosing View opens “a PDF version of the account statement” in a new browser tab, and choosing Download saves a PDF version.
I already have an ANZ statement. What next?
Upload the file as it is. A password, if the file has one, is typed during the upload and the file opens in your browser; the .xlsx you download lists one transaction per row.
