Singapore bank statements to Excel
Quotes from DBS, OCBC, HSBC, Maybank and three other Singapore banks on how their statements are kept, and the 7 banks with an ExtractPro page.
Each Singapore bank writes about its statements on its own pages, mostly as eStatements (UOB and Citibank Singapore also say e-Statements). The passages below are quoted bank by bank, and after them come links to the 7 Singapore banks that have a page on ExtractPro. Put a statement saved as a PDF through ExtractPro and an Excel workbook (.xlsx) returns with every transaction on its own row, the date, description and amount in their own columns, the balance too when the statement shows it, and amounts that Excel can add up.
What each bank says about its statements
- DBS Singapore: “You need to install an Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the eStatement which is in PDF format.” and “eStatements are kept for 7 years from the date of your enrolment.” Its transaction history reaches back “up to past 6 months”.
- POSB: its help page says “eStatement is currently not available for POSB Passbook Saving account.” The eStatement help of DBS Bank Ltd, the entity behind POSB, adds that for POSB Savings and POSB MySavings accounts “no eStatements will be generated if there are no transactions for the month with the exception of the year-end (Dec) eStatement.”
- OCBC Singapore: “These are statements and letters that are made available to you in PDF format via the OCBC app and Internet Banking.” In 2026 OCBC’s Documents page offers “three years’ worth of past documents”, rising to “seven years over time”.
- UOB: “Digital statements are archived for up to 5 years from the time you subscribe to e-Statements.” In the UOB TMRW app the route is “Tap on Services > eStatements”.
- HSBC Singapore: “you can view, download, or print your statements for the last 12 months securely through the HSBC Singapore App or Online Banking”, and the app lets you “download the PDF version of the statement”.
- Citibank Singapore: “You may retrieve up to 7 years of e-Statement(s) and/or up to 2 years of your e-Advice(s) for your active accounts digitally.”
- Maybank Singapore: its app FAQ, “Updated as at 9 July 2020”, says “Select the eStatement you wish to view. It will appear in PDF format.”, and its eStatement FAQ, “Last updated: 4 May 2023”, says “You can view eStatements from the past 12 months.”

DBS Singapore, OCBC Singapore, HSBC Singapore and Maybank Singapore use the word PDF in the passages quoted above, Maybank in an app FAQ from 2020. UOB, POSB and Citibank Singapore do not, so with them the file to upload is the one you saved, if it is a PDF. Four of the banks, DBS Singapore, OCBC Singapore, HSBC Singapore and Maybank Singapore, also have a guide on ExtractPro that goes through the download in order.
Where a bank’s screen history ends and a statement carries on
DBS says its transaction history reaches back “up to past 6 months” and adds “You can view your eStatements and eAdvices for transactions that are more than 6 months ago.” HSBC Singapore’s digital banking shows statements “for the last 12 months”, and for older ones HSBC says: “To request statements older than 12 months, please chat with us via the HSBC Singapore app or call our customer service hotline.” DBS IDEAL, for business customers, offers a report that can be exported: “Choose either Microsoft Excel (.xls) or PDF as your export format.” Where a period falls beyond windows like these, or a client has handed you nothing but the statement, the statement is the document you convert. Why five years matters
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) writes on its page about record keeping: “Your company must maintain proper records of its financial transactions and retain the source documents, accounting records and schedules, bank statements and any other records of transactions connected with your business for at least 5 years from the relevant Year of Assessment (YA).” Set that against the banks above: DBS Singapore and Citibank Singapore quote 7 years, UOB quotes 5 years from the time you subscribe, OCBC Singapore offers three years of documents in 2026, and HSBC Singapore quotes 12 months, as does Maybank Singapore in its eStatement FAQ last updated in 2023. The 7 Singapore banks on ExtractPro
Pick a bank to open its page on ExtractPro, which answers the usual questions about that bank’s statements.
From the statement to a spreadsheet
Whichever bank issued it, the job runs the same way, whether you saved the statement from an app or Internet Banking, got it by email or were sent it by a client:
- 1Pick the PDF as it was saved and upload it. If it has a password, you type it during the upload and the file unlocks in your browser.
- 2ExtractPro lists the transactions in a table and gives each its own row.
- 3Download the .xlsx: date, description and amount in separate columns, the balance as well when the statement shows it, every amount a number. A CSV is available through the custom format.
For a file bound for Xero, the Xero guide lists the custom format options to choose. Before reconciling, set the workbook’s last balance beside the statement’s, and its rows beside the transactions the statement lists.

Frequently asked questions
Which Singapore banks are covered on ExtractPro?
Seven have a page of their own: DBS Singapore, POSB, OCBC Singapore, UOB, HSBC Singapore, Citibank Singapore and Maybank Singapore. On each you will find what that bank itself says about its statements, quoted.
My bank lets me download a transaction history. Is that the eStatement?
In DBS’s wording they are different documents. The transaction history is the page that allows “up to past 6 months”, and for earlier months DBS says “You can view your eStatements and eAdvices for transactions that are more than 6 months ago.” The eStatement is the document ExtractPro converts.
Can I try ExtractPro on a Singapore statement before paying?
Yes. The Free plan includes 2 conversions per month and does not ask for a card, enough to run one statement from DBS Singapore, OCBC Singapore or another bank on the list and read the workbook before you choose a paid plan.
