HSBC Singapore shows statements in its app and Online Banking for a set period. What follows covers the steps in the app, the share function that produces the PDF, the 12 months HSBC says are on offer, and where an older statement has to come from.

Steps in the app

HSBC’s app FAQ gives the route: “To view your banking account eStatement: Log on to your app On Home, scroll and select the account that you'd like to view your statement Select 'View statements'”. 1. 1Log on to the HSBC Singapore app.
  2. 2On Home, scroll and select the account whose statement you want to view.
  3. 3Select View statements.

The PDF comes from the share function

Further down the same FAQ, HSBC explains how to get the file: “You can use the share function by pressing the 'share' icon at the top-right corner when viewing the statement. You can then download the PDF version of the statement”. The PDF version is the file to upload to ExtractPro. Twelve months in digital banking

HSBC's electronic statements FAQ sets the window: once registered, “you can view, download, or print your statements for the last 12 months securely through the HSBC Singapore App or Online Banking”. Asking for an older statement

The same FAQ describes the route past 12 months: “To request statements older than 12 months, please chat with us via the HSBC Singapore app or call our customer service hotline. We’ll help retrieve and send the statements you need, subject to availability and our record-retention period (older statements may not be retrievable).” Source: HSBC Singapore, Electronic Statements, www.hsbc.com.sg/ways-to-bank/electronic-statements/faq/, accessed 8 October 2026.

IRAS, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, writes on its page for companies: “Your company must maintain proper records of its financial transactions and retain the source documents, accounting records and schedules, bank statements and any other records of transactions connected with your business for at least 5 years from the relevant Year of Assessment (YA).” A statement saved while it is still in the app spares you that request. From the HSBC PDF to Excel

Upload the PDF from the app untouched. ExtractPro answers with an .xlsx that has a row for every transaction, the date, description and amount in their own columns, the balance too when the statement shows it, and amounts stored as numbers. If the PDF asks for a password, enter it while uploading and it opens in your browser.

Once the workbook is open, set its row count against the transactions on the statement and its closing balance against the statement’s. HSBC Singapore on ExtractPro:

Frequently asked questions

Does HSBC Singapore promise to find any older statement?

No. Its FAQ makes the help “subject to availability and our record-retention period”, and adds “(older statements may not be retrievable)”.

How long does IRAS ask a company to keep bank statements?

IRAS’s record-keeping page says “for at least 5 years from the relevant Year of Assessment (YA)”. HSBC’s digital banking covers 12 months, so earlier statements have to be saved or requested.

What do I get back from the HSBC Singapore PDF?

A spreadsheet in .xlsx format: one transaction per row, date, description and amount in separate columns, amounts as numbers, and the balance when the statement shows it.
