How do you convert your FAB bank statement to Excel?

An e-statement attachment from FAB can go into ExtractPro, which hands back an Excel file (.xlsx) holding one transaction per row, with date, description and amount each in their own column (and the balance, when the statement shows it). The bank’s site is bankfab.com, where the title of its help page reads “Help and Support for Your Everyday Banking Needs Today | FAB UAE”.

How it works

3 steps, in seconds

01

Download the statement

Get the statement for the period from FAB; if it comes as a PDF, that is the file to upload.

02

Upload it to ExtractPro

If the PDF is password-protected, enter the password and the file unlocks in your browser. The password never reaches our servers.

03

Download the Excel file

One transaction per row, with date, description and amount in separate columns (and the balance, when the statement shows it).

The answer on FAB’s page is “Your e-statement password is made up of the last four digits of your account number. 101XXXXX1234 followed by the day and month of your date of birth 01-02-1989 (DDMM). When you are prompted for password, the 8-digit password to be entered: 12340102.”

03

How does the FAB business fee table treat monthly and duplicate statements?

On FAB’s business fees and charges page, the “Statement Charges” block has “Monthly Statement” marked “Free” and “Duplicate Account Statement” with a charge per page and a cap, for example “10 per page max of 200”.
