How to download a Bank of Ireland bank statement

Bank of Ireland statements: Statements on the transactions screen, the PDF, an up-to-date statement ordered before 3:30pm, 7 years plus 7 after closing, and the CSV.

Bank of Ireland puts statements behind a Statements option on the screen that lists an account’s transactions, in the Bank of Ireland App and in 365 online. This guide covers that route, the PDF the bank describes, ordering a statement that runs up to today, the period the bank keeps statements for, and its CSV export.

From the transactions screen

The app route on Bank of Ireland’s page is “Log in to your account on the Bank of Ireland App.”, “Tap an account to enter transactions screen.”, “Select 'Statements'.” and “Choose a statement to open or save to your device.” For the web it gives “Log in to your account on the 365 online.”, “Select an account to enter transactions screen” and “Select 'Statements'.” Source: Bank of Ireland help centre, viewing statements, www.bankofireland.com/help-centre/faq/estatements-can-view/, accessed 10 October 2026.

  1. 1Log in to your account on the Bank of Ireland App, or on 365 online.
  2. 2Tap or select an account to enter the transactions screen.
  3. 3Select “Statements”.
  4. 4In the app, choose a statement to open or save to your device.

The file the bank describes

Bank of Ireland names the format on its page about online banking: “An eStatement is an electronic version of your account statement in PDF format. This means you can view, print and download it whenever you like.” A page on printing and saving covers the phone: “A PDF will open on your phone. You can then use your phone's settings to print or save your statement.” A statement saved as a PDF is the file to upload to ExtractPro. A statement up to today, ordered before 3:30pm

For the days since the last statement, the bank has a separate order. Its page says “Choose 'Order an up-to-date statement'.” and sets a cut-off: “If you order your up-to-date eStatement online before 3:30pm on a working day, the statement will be produced overnight and ready to download on the Upgraded Bank of Ireland App or 365 online.” Source: Bank of Ireland help centre, ordering an up-to-date statement, www.bankofireland.com/help-centre/faq/can-order-date-estatement-now/, accessed 10 October 2026.

Seven years, and seven more after closing

On retention the bank says “Your eStatements will remain visible online for 7 years for open accounts. Your account statements remain available for 7 years after you close your account which can be ordered as duplicate statements.” The bank’s page about its online statements puts the same period in other words: “We’ll keep them securely for you for seven years.” For a closed account the bank’s own wording points to ordering duplicate statements. The CSV from 365 online

Bank of Ireland also offers a file of transactions: “Alternatively you can export your transaction history as a CSV file using 365 online.” and, as the first step, “Select an account on 365 online”. The page gives no period for that file, whereas the statements carry the seven years above, so for a period that matters the saved PDFs are the record. From the Bank of Ireland PDF to Excel

Keep the PDF just as Bank of Ireland produced it and give it to ExtractPro. The .xlsx that returns lists each transaction on its own row, with date, description and amount in separate columns, amounts as numbers and, when the statement shows it, a balance column too. A password, if the file asks for one, goes in at the upload.

A short check closes the job: the workbook should end on the figure the Bank of Ireland statement ends on, and hold as many rows as the statement has transactions. The Bank of Ireland page on ExtractPro:

The bank’s page on printing and saving says “In the print menu choose 'Print to PDF' or 'Save to PDF'.” The file that results is the one to upload to ExtractPro.

What does Bank of Ireland say about statements for a closed account?

It says they stay available for 7 years after closing and “can be ordered as duplicate statements”. Whatever you receive as a PDF is uploaded in the same way, since ExtractPro converts the file you give it.
