How do you convert your SBI bank statement to Excel?

ExtractPro turns an SBI statement into an .xlsx workbook with a row for each transaction and the date, description and amount in separate columns, and the balance too where the statement carries one. SBI’s online banking is at onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in and its main site at sbi.bank.in. When a statement comes by SMS request instead, SBI’s page “Sbi Quick Missed Call Banking - Personal Banking” says “The statement will be sent on your registered email ID with password encrypted PDF file”.

FAQ

About SBI statements

01

Can I upload the e-statement SBI sends by email after an SMS request?

Yes. Under “E-Statement – last 6 month”, the Sbi Quick page says “You can avail e-statement for last 6 months of your Savings Bank account.” and explains that “Code is any 4 digit number of your choice which will be used to encrypt the PDF attachment sent to your registered email address”. Upload the attachment and type the code you chose when the upload asks for it; the file unlocks in your browser.

02

What can I choose when I generate an account statement in SBI Internet Banking?

The Products and Services page of SBI’s online banking has “You can generate the online account statement for any date range or for any month and year.” It adds “The statement includes the transaction details, opening, closing and accumulated balance in the account.” and, for the number of records on each page of the statement, lists “25, 50, 75, 100 and ALL”.

03

Does SBI charge for its e-statement, and how often does it arrive?

SBI’s “e-STATEMENT - Customer Care” page defines it as “An e-Statement is a summarized periodical record (viz. quarterly or monthly) of all the transactions made by a customer.” On cost it says “No. SBI is providing the service free of cost.” and it adds “Yes, you can print the statement once you receive it in your email address.”

How do I convert an SBI statement to Excel?

To convert an SBI statement to Excel, upload it to ExtractPro and download the .xlsx workbook that comes back, a transaction on every row, with the date, description and amount in separate columns, the balance as well when the statement has one, and each amount stored as a number. SBI’s Products and Services page says the statement can be “downloaded as an Excel or PDF file” for “any date range or for any month and year”, so either file is one you can upload.
