How to download an SBI statement
SBI Internet Banking’s account statement route, the Excel or PDF choice, the records-per-page options and the e-statement the bank sends after an SMS.
SBI spreads what a customer needs about statements over four pages: a retail Internet Banking FAQ with the route, a Products and Services page with the choices, an e-STATEMENT customer-care page, and a missed-call banking page that covers the e-statement sent after an SMS.
The route in Internet Banking
The FAQ puts the question as “I want to download Statement of my account.” and answers “Please go to My Accounts & Profile and account statement option, select the account and enter the required details and submit.” Source: (FAQ) Retail Internet Banking - Faq's, sbi.bank.in/web/faq-s/retail-internet-banking, accessed 14 October 2026.
- 1In SBI Internet Banking, go to “My Accounts & Profile” and choose the “account statement” option.
- 2Select the account.
- 3Enter the required details and submit.
What the statement can be
In its block headed Account Statement, the Products and Services page of online banking says “You can generate the online account statement for any date range or for any month and year.” On the file itself it says “The account statement can be viewed online, printed or downloaded as an Excel or PDF file.” Source: Products and Services (the page’s H1; its title is State Bank of India), onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in/sbijava/productsandservices.html, accessed 14 October 2026.
A setting on the same page decides how long each screen of the statement runs: “You also have the option to select the number of records displayed in each page of the statement. The options are 25, 50, 75, 100 and ALL.” About the contents, the page says “The statement includes the transaction details, opening, closing and accumulated balance in the account.” Source: Products and Services (the page’s H1; its title is State Bank of India), onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in/sbijava/productsandservices.html, accessed 14 October 2026.
The e-statement and what it costs
The customer-care page describes it as “An e-Statement is a summarized periodical record (viz. quarterly or monthly) of all the transactions made by a customer.” On cost the answer is “No. SBI is providing the service free of cost.” and on paper it adds “Yes, you can print the statement once you receive it in your email address.” Source: e-STATEMENT - Customer Care, sbi.bank.in/web/customer-care/e-statement, accessed 14 October 2026.
The statement that follows an SMS
The missed-call banking page has an entry headed “E-Statement – last 6 month”. Under it: “You can avail e-statement for last 6 months of your Savings Bank account. The statement will be sent on your registered email ID with password encrypted PDF file”. The code that locks the attachment is chosen by the customer: “(Note: Code is any 4 digit number of your choice which will be used to encrypt the PDF attachment sent to your registered email address)”. What ExtractPro does with the SBI file
An Excel file saved from Internet Banking and the encrypted attachment that arrives by email are both uploaded as they are. For the attachment, the 4-digit code is entered when you upload it. In the .xlsx workbook that returns, one line stands for one transaction, the date, the description and the amount each have a column, the amounts are stored as numbers and, when the statement shows one, a column holds the balance.
SBI’s statement carries “opening, closing and accumulated balance in the account”, so where the workbook has a balance column its last entry can be read against the closing balance. The SBI page on ExtractPro:

Frequently asked questions
Which file types does SBI offer for an account statement?
Two, in the bank’s words: “The account statement can be viewed online, printed or downloaded as an Excel or PDF file.” ExtractPro takes both, so the choice can follow whatever you need to keep.
Does the SBI e-statement requested by SMS come with a password?
It does. The Sbi Quick page says it is sent “with password encrypted PDF file”, and the key is the customer’s own: “Code is any 4 digit number of your choice which will be used to encrypt the PDF attachment sent to your registered email address”. Add that code when you upload the attachment.
How many records does an SBI online statement show on one page?
The choice is made on the Products and Services page: “The options are 25, 50, 75, 100 and ALL.” They apply to “the number of records displayed in each page of the statement”, next to the date range or the month and year.
