A client’s statement can reach an accountant as an attachment from the bank’s email service, as a file saved from net banking, or as a forward. The banks keep those choices on different pages, and some of the pages say a password is involved.

Email delivery, bank by bank

  • SBI: on its missed-call banking page, the e-statement requested by SMS “will be sent on your registered email ID with password encrypted PDF file”.
  • HDFC Bank: “However, you can get the statement via email only in PDF format.”
  • ICICI Bank: the statements page closes with “Also register for e-statements on your email”.
  • Axis Bank: for savings and agri accounts, the Insta Services route ends in “Statement will be sent on registered email id”.
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank: a statement can be requested “either on your preferred email ID (free of cost) or on your registered mailing address (chargeable)”.
  • IndusInd Bank: its E-Statements page offers the statement “at your registered e-mail address/es in an all-new PDF format.”
  • YES BANK: the email version sits under “Non-financial transaction”, at “Consolidated Email Statement”.
