HDFC Bank NetBanking’s statement steps, the five download formats, email delivery in one format and the Customer ID the bank gives as the password.

HDFC Bank explains the download in two places: a NetBanking blog with the steps, and the NetBanking FAQs with the formats, the e-statement and the password. The file comes down locked, so the password gets a section of its own, quoted whole.

The steps in NetBanking

The blog, whose H1 is “How to View and Download your Account Statement via NetBanking”, opens with “Log in to your HDFC Bank NetBanking portal.” The period is set with “Choose a predefined statement period or set a custom date range.” and the download is started with “Click on ‘Download’.” Source: Download Account Statement via NetBanking | HDFC Bank, www.hdfc.bank.in/blogs/digital-banking/download-account-statement-via-netbanking, accessed 14 October 2026.

  1. 1Log in to your HDFC Bank NetBanking portal and go to the “Account Statements” section.
  2. 2Click the “Get Statement” button and select the account.
  3. 3Choose a predefined statement period or set a custom date range.
  4. 4Click “Download”: “Your account statement will be downloaded as a password-protected file.”
  5. 5With the PDF, open the file with the password the bank gives: “Use your numeric Customer ID as the password to open the statement.”

The password, quoted in full

The blog’s last two lines say what opens the file: “Your account statement will be downloaded as a password-protected file.” and “Use your numeric Customer ID as the password to open the statement.” The FAQs add where the bank prints the hint: “The password is your Customer ID (CustID). This is mentioned in the note section on the Account Statement download page only when you select the format as PDF and also in the download account statement success message.” Source: Download Account Statement via NetBanking | HDFC Bank, www.hdfc.bank.in/blogs/digital-banking/download-account-statement-via-netbanking; Net Banking FAQ (the page’s title; its H1 is HDFC Bank NetBanking FAQs), www.hdfc.bank.in/need-help/net-banking-faqs. All accessed 14 October 2026.

ExtractPro takes the locked PDF as it was downloaded: the Customer ID goes in as the password when you upload it.

Five formats, and what email delivery allows

To “In which formats can I get my account statements?” the FAQs reply “Account statements are available in 5 different formats for Download- PDF, Excel, Text, Delimited and MSMoney.” The email route is narrower: “However, you can get the statement via email only in PDF format.” Source: Net Banking FAQ, www.hdfc.bank.in/need-help/net-banking-faqs, accessed 14 October 2026.

Both of the FAQ’s routes to a statement finish at “Download or Email.”, and the monthly e-statement is switched on through “Click on the Quick Link - ‘Manage e-Statement’”. Source: Net Banking FAQ, www.hdfc.bank.in/need-help/net-banking-faqs, accessed 14 October 2026.

Taking the locked HDFC Bank PDF to Excel

Of the five formats, two go into ExtractPro: the PDF, whether downloaded or emailed by the bank, and the Excel file. The workbook that comes back stores the amounts as numbers, and a balance column appears if the statement shows one. The HDFC Bank page on ExtractPro:
