How to download a Scotiabank Canada bank statement

The Scotiabank Canada help centre gives a separate answer for online banking, for mobile web and for the app, and the eStatements page adds a figure for history. This guide follows the three routes in the bank’s own words and then the two periods it names.

Online banking

The online banking answer runs from the Accounts page to Documents: “Select Documents and choose the account statements you want to view”. Two periods in one passage

Scotiabank Canada’s eStatements page names a history and an archive together: “Reduce paper clutter with quick and easy access to view, print, or download 24 months of history. Your statements are also archived for up to 7 years.” That is 24 months to view, print or download, and a longer archive behind it. From the Scotiabank Canada statement to Excel

The route you took makes no difference to the upload: send the file unchanged. Back comes an .xlsx with a row for every transaction, separate columns for date, description and amount, numeric amounts, and the balance as well when the statement shows it.
