How do you convert your CIMB bank statement to Excel?

A CIMB eStatement, saved by you from CIMB Clicks or sent over by a client, can be converted by ExtractPro into an .xlsx file in which every transaction has a row, with columns for the date, the description and the amount (and for the balance when the statement has one). CIMB’s site is cimb.com.my. On whether eStatements are secured, the bank says they require “a PDF password that only you know”.

  1. Log in to CIMB Clicks.
  2. Select “My Accounts > View/Download Statement”.

FAQ

About CIMB statements

01

Can a CIMB eStatement from CIMB Clicks be converted?

Yes. CIMB’s FAQ “What is eStatement?” says “eStatement is a PDF version of your monthly account statement.” Whatever CIMB eStatement you hold goes in as it is, and the Excel file that comes out shows one transaction per row with the amounts as numbers.

02

What is the maximum period CIMB gives for retrieving an eStatement?

CIMB’s FAQ on how long an eStatement stays available says “eStatement will be available for viewing and retrieval up to a maximum period of 18 months.” Upload any eStatement you still hold from before that as well.

03

How often does CIMB issue the eStatement for a savings account?

CIMB’s FAQ for savings accounts says “A Savings Account/Savings Account-i eStatement will only be generated if you have performed more than 2 transactions in a month. Otherwise, quarterly eStatement will be generated.” A quarterly one is uploaded in the same way as a monthly one.
