How to download a CIBC bank statement

CIBC eStatements: My Documents, Account Documents and Account statements in Online Banking, the app route through More, the PDF that downloads, and 7 years online.

CIBC keeps its eStatements under My Documents. This guide follows the Online Banking route and the app route in CIBC’s tutorial, the PDF it says downloads to your device, and the seven years of eStatements named on a second page.

In CIBC Online Banking

The tutorial goes from the homepage to a single statement. After My Documents and the Account Documents options come the account and the search: “Select the account you want to find an eStatement for”, then “Search through your eStatements, which are categorized by statement date. Once you've selected the eStatement you want to review, a PDF will download to your device.” Source: How to Find and Understand eStatements | CIBC, www.cibc.com/en/personal-banking/ways-to-bank/digital-banking-tutorials/how-to-understand-estatements.html, accessed 8 October 2026.

  1. 1On the CIBC Online Banking homepage, select the “My Documents” button.
  2. 2Go to the Account Documents options, then select “Account statements”.
  3. 3Select the account you want to find an eStatement for.
  4. 4Choose the eStatement you want to review: “a PDF will download to your device”.

In the CIBC app

The app route in the same tutorial starts from a different place and meets the same names. It points to “More”, then to “My documents”, and then to “Account statements”. Seven years, and saving a copy

CIBC’s eStatements page gives the period: “View up to 7 years of your credit card and bank account eStatements online and on your mobile device.” It also tells customers “Save and print your statements.” Source: eStatements - Go from paperwork to paperless | CIBC, www.cibc.com/en/personal-banking/ways-to-bank/how-to/estatements.html, accessed 8 October 2026.

From the CIBC PDF to Excel

The PDF CIBC downloads can be uploaded as it is. The result is a workbook: a row per transaction, date, description and amount kept apart, numbers in the amount column, and a balance column if the statement shows one.

Before relying on the file, look at the statement beside it. Every listed transaction should have a row, and any closing balance printed on the statement should be the balance on the sheet’s last row. CIBC has a page on ExtractPro:
