Ten Malaysian banks say on their own pages how far back a statement can be retrieved, and some speak of protection on the file. This guide sets those statements side by side, each with its page, and links to the 13 Malaysian banks that have a page on ExtractPro. A statement uploaded from any of them comes back as an .xlsx file: a row for each transaction, the date, the description and the amount in separate columns, amounts that Excel reads as numbers, and the balance as well if the statement shows one.

How far back each bank says a statement goes

  • Maybank Malaysia: “To request a statement that is more than 1 year, kindly visit any nearest Maybank branch. Do note that there will be charges incurred upon this request.”
  • CIMB: “eStatement will be available for viewing and retrieval up to a maximum period of 18 months.”
  • Public Bank: “You can view the past 24 months’ records, however, the e-statements are generated on the preset interval based on the account type.”
  • RHB: “You can access your electronic statements for up to 25 months in RHB Online Banking or RHB Reflex.”
  • Hong Leong Bank: the table in its e-Statement FAQ gives “Latest 24 months +1 month (current month)” for “Current Account / Current Account-i (individuals only)”.
  • AmBank: “You can view and download your eStatement for up to 12 months.”
  • UOB Malaysia: “For new UOB Personal Internet Banking customer, your e-Statement will be available for viewing for up to maximum of 60 months online, commencing from the date you signed up for e- Statement.”
  • Alliance Bank: “Yes, up to the past 12 months' statement will be made available to you with the option to download for your reference.”
  • HSBC Malaysia: its eStatements page offers “Instant access to your bank account statements or credit card statements from the past 12 months.”
  • Standard Chartered Malaysia: “Online access to your eStatements for the past 12 months, and save the electronic statement to your devices.”

The figures are not all the same kind of window. AmBank separates the eStatement from the history on screen: “You can view your current or savings account/-i transaction history for up to 5 months.” and “You can only download past 1 month transaction history.” RHB’s figure comes with an announcement dated 5 August 2026, headed “Extension of E-Statement Retrieval Period to 25 Months.” Source: View Details, ambank.com.my/online-banking/faq/account; Extension of E-Statement Retrieval Period to 25 Months., www.rhbgroup.com/-/media/Files/others/highlights/announcements/H20260805-1.pdf, accessed 14 October 2026.

The list runs from the 12 months AmBank gives for the eStatement to the 60 months UOB Malaysia gives a new customer, while for Maybank Malaysia a statement “more than 1 year” old is a request at a branch. A month beyond the screen, or a statement a client forwards, goes into ExtractPro as the file you hold. Statements that come protected

Some banks speak of protection on the statement file. CIMB says “Yes, eStatements are secured as your information is protected with the latest security features and requires a PDF password that only you know.” Hong Leong Bank says “Yes, e-Statement is secured as your information is password protected.” RHB says “The statement will be sent as a password-protected attachment to your registered email address.” Standard Chartered Malaysia’s eStatements page says its Email Statement service sends the eStatement “in an encrypted PDF format.” Source: Are eStatements secured?, www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/help-support/faq/cimb-clicks-online-banking/estatement/are-estatements-secured.html; Frequently Asked Questions - E-Statement, www.hlb.com.my/en/personal-banking/help-support/general-faq/e-statement.html; Statement, www.rhbgroup.com/others/faq/general/statement/index.html; eStatements – Standard Chartered Malaysia, www.sc.com/my/bank-with-us/estatement/, accessed 14 October 2026.

RHB prints its rule for the emailed file, and the RHB download guide quotes it to the end. For any of the banks, a password is typed in at the upload step and the file is opened in your browser.

The names below are links. Each one opens the page of that bank on ExtractPro, which puts the bank’s own wording on statements next to the answers about uploading a file.

From the statement to a spreadsheet

The route from statement to spreadsheet has three steps, and it is the same whether the statement is your own or a client’s:

  1. 1Choose the statement as the bank or the client handed it over, and upload it.
  2. 2ExtractPro reads the transactions in it and gives each one a row.
  3. 3Download the .xlsx, with the date, the description and the amount in columns of their own, each amount held as a number and a balance column when the statement shows it. The custom format writes a CSV in its place.

A file bound for Xero is covered by the Xero guide, which names the custom format options to pick. Before you depend on the workbook, set it beside the statement: its rows should match the number of transactions listed, and its last balance should be the closing balance if the statement prints one.
