How do you convert your ANZ bank statement to Excel?

ExtractPro converts an ANZ bank statement into an Excel file (.xlsx), one transaction per row, with the date, description and amount in separate columns (and the balance, when the statement shows it), when the statement you have is a PDF. In ANZ Internet Banking, statements sit under View statements, and the last step is “Click Download to open your statement in a new internet browser window”. ANZ says you can reach statements and notices “for both open and closed accounts in ANZ Internet Banking.” Its transaction download covers “the last 2 years” and works for open accounts only. The ANZ site is anz.com.au.

How to download your ANZ bank statement

  1. Log in to ANZ Internet Banking and select your account.
  2. Click View statements on the left.
  3. From the drop-down list, choose the account whose statement you need.
  4. Click Download: the statement opens in a new browser window; if it is a PDF, save it and upload it to ExtractPro.

“Log in to Internet Banking · Select your account · Click View statements on the left · From the dropdown list, select the account you want to view the statement for · … · Click Download to open your statement in a new internet browser window”

FAQ

About ANZ statements

01

Is an ANZ statement something ExtractPro can put into Excel?

Yes. If the ANZ statement opens as a PDF, ExtractPro hands back an .xlsx with each transaction on its own line and the amounts as real numbers.

02

What if a period is missing from my ANZ statements?

ANZ offers two routes. Its statements page suggests you “generate a Transaction Report for the last 30, 60, 90 or 120 days” or “Order a replacement statement”, which takes “3-5 business days to receive your statements by mail, or two business days by email”.

03

Which formats does the ANZ transaction download offer?

ANZ’s statements page has you “Select a Software package option from the dropdown”, notes that “a CSV file format can be opened with a plain text editor” and limits the download to “the last 2 years” for open accounts. For an older ANZ statement, if you have it as a PDF, that is the file to convert.
